Ask three engraving shops to put a logo on a plaque and you may get three different processes. Laser, rotary, and sublimation all produce a mark on a surface, and all of them are called engraving in everyday use, but they work differently, suit different materials, and look different up close. Knowing which is which … Read more
Trophy height is the decision people spend the least time on and regret the most. A 6-inch trophy handed to a varsity champion looks like a participation award. A 15-inch cup handed to a seven-year-old is comedy. The right size depends on who is receiving it, what the occasion is, how many are being ordered, … Read more
Trophy engraving is the last step in the order and the one that gets rushed most often. The trophy is chosen, the event is scheduled, and then someone is typing names into an order form at midnight. The result is fine, usually, but a little thought goes a long way. Where the engraving sits, how … Read more
The ceremony is tomorrow. The retirement party is Friday. The tournament ends this weekend and someone forgot to order the trophies. Same-day engraving exists precisely for this, and it works more often than people expect. It also fails in predictable ways, usually because the person ordering did not know which questions to ask. A retirement plaque is read twice. Once at the party, when the words get a laugh or a lump in the throat, and then for years afterward on an office wall or a shelf at home. Wording that works in both moments is short, specific, and true. This guide gives retirement plaque wording examples across … Read more
A plaque is the most flexible recognition format there is. It hangs on a wall, sits on a desk, holds a long message, carries a logo, and lasts decades. Almost all of that comes down to the engraving. This guide covers how plaques are engraved, the plate and material options, how to lay out text … Read more
The metal cup is the trophy. When a person pictures a championship, they picture a cup held overhead, and no other format has replaced it in a century. What has changed is the range. Cups now come in several constructions, two main metals, multiple finishes, heights from under 9 inches to well over 15, and … Read more
Writing a memorial plaque is harder than it looks. The space is small, the words are permanent, and the plaque will be read by people who knew the person and people who did not. Most families and organizations get stuck between saying too little and trying to say everything. This guide gives wording examples by … Read more
Indoor memorial plaques have it easy. Outdoor plaques face sun, rain, freezing winters, lawn equipment, and decades of handling, and most of the plaques that fail do so because they were never meant to be outside. A memorial on a park bench or under a tree needs the right material, the right mounting, and text … Read more
Searching for local trophy shops turns up a mix of real award companies, sporting goods stores with an engraving machine in the back, and online resellers with a local address. They are not the same thing, and the difference shows up when the order is complicated, the deadline is short, or something goes wrong. This … Read more
